The Dinos are back and this time they want to play!
Our family had the wonderful privilege to play with these historic giants last night at the launch of the Dinos Alive in Augmented Reality and were pleasantly surprised by the cutting-edge technology with educational elements to deliver a truly immersive dinosaur experience.
Improving from last year’s expo, this December Capegate Shopping Centre hosts the first ever dinosaur augmented reality exhibition in South Africa – DinosAlive Augmented Reality.
“The extremely successful Dinos Alive expo hosted at Capegate last year has been completely revamped into a super exciting range of augmented and virtual reality experiences”, says Capegate Marketing Manager, Amanda McCarthy.
I agree it’s gotten with the times. Children LOVE their phones and tablets, so it’s wonderful that they will now be able to put them to “educational” use at the Dinos Alive Expo and learn about the world’s most beloved and mysterious creatures. My five-year-old son was beside himself. I had to drag them away from every activity!
What you can expect
Children and adults will have the opportunity to learn about the T-Rex, Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Triceratops and the Parasaurolophus by interacting with these creatures on a big screen and their phone or tablet and by gathering information from computer-generated Dinos.
Dino’s Alive Augmented Reality opens at Capegate Shopping Centre in Brackenfell on the 6th of December and will offer 5 interactive AR and VR (Virtual Reality) experiences including a giant interactive dino screen, virtual TRex Experience, VR Dino tour and dino edu-table.
Online Dino games, colouring-in, a dino ride, Dino selfie opportunities and a range of other fun physical activities for young and old will also be on offer.
Here’s a few pics from our time at the launch. Wonderful People and Lovely Experience!
