I say in and AROUND Cape Town, because there may be one or two options on here that will require you to drive a little further. Don’t be alarmed! Because I promise it will be well worth the journey. Most of the child-friendly farmers’ markets on this list, however, are fortunately just a stone throw away if you live in our beautiful city.
There are so many reasons why we should be supporting our local farmers’ markets. Markets are no doubt hard work, and lots of time and effort go into the prep. to bring us all enjoyment. The farmers, chefs, and other creatives work tirelessly to bring the community only the best organic produce, carefully handcrafted goodies, and the most delicious foods and bakes you will not find anywhere else. It guarantees to cater to almost all your needs and provides a diverse variety of culinary preferences. It is also of the few places you may get your hands on pure honey!
A visit to your local farmers’ market also eliminates the usual mundane mall shopping and saves us as parents and our kids a lot of frustration and tears. Now the kids can play while you shop and bite on a falafel. Score! So, to show your appreciation for their incredible efforts, go out and support your local and very talented artisans.
